Mr. Benedict Obhiosa

Benedict Obhiosa is a distinguished professional known for his expertise in non-oil export policy advocacy and a profound understanding of international trade and development. With a career spanning over 12 years, he has made significant contributions to various facets of the export and economic development landscape.
Mr. Obhiosa's comprehensive experience encompasses consultancy, training, academic and business research, policy advocacy, and serving as a manufacturer's representative in matters related to non-oil export promotion.
He embarked on his professional journey as a Consulting Officer in business management and training, rapidly ascending to the position of Associate Consultant with PAMS International Consulting. His early career laid the foundation for his versatile skill set and prepared him for his future roles.
Additionally, Mr. Obhiosa served as a private research assistant to a faculty member at the prestigious Lagos Business School, gaining valuable insights into academic research and business dynamics.

Currently, Mr. Obhiosa holds the esteemed position of Executive Secretary/Export Development Manager at the Manufacturers' Association of Nigeria Export Promotion Group (MANEG). In this capacity, he leads the organization's efforts in research, policy advocacy, and development of global best practices in non-oil export policy. His role involves advising various government ministries, departments, and agencies in Nigeria on non-oil export incentives and other related matters. He also takes the lead in providing training sessions on export documentation, processes, and procedures, as well as computation of the ECOWAS Trade Liberalization Scheme (ETLS) application.
Mr. Obhiosa is a respected representative of manufacturers in the ETLS registration process and import permit applications under ETLS. His active involvement in national committees further underscores his commitment to advancing trade facilitation and export promotion in Nigeria. Notably, he is an active member of the National Approvals Committee (NAC) on ECOWAS Trade Liberalization Scheme (ETLS), a standing committee in Nigeria. He is also a member of the Inter-Agency Technical Committee on Export Documentation, a vital initiative to address the rejection of Nigerian agricultural products by the UK and EU. Additionally, he serves as a member of the Technical Committee on the Basket of Incentives for the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC).
Mr. Obhiosa's dedication to continuous learning and research is evident in his pursuit of a PhD in Economics, with a particular focus on international trade, at Babcock University. He holds an M.Sc. Degree in Economics (International Trade and Development) and a B.Sc. Degree in Economics and Statistics, both from the University of Benin. Furthermore, he has obtained a certificate in WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement and Regional Trade Facilitation Rules and Regulations from the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR).
