Mr. Federick Mordi

Frederick Mordi is a multifaceted professional with over two decades of experience in journalism, corporate communications, and government affairs. His extensive career spans various domains, including business reporting, media relations, investor relations, public relations, government affairs, stakeholder management, corporate reputation management, internal communications, change management, sustainability, corporate social responsibility, and cross-cultural/multicultural communication.
Mr. Mordi began his career in journalism, reporting for several prominent newspapers in Nigeria, where he steadily rose to the position of Deputy Editor with the Financial Standard Newspaper. He also served as a Correspondent (Freelance) for the London-based African Business magazine, further enhancing his global perspective.
His journey into corporate communications led him to roles such as Media Relations/Internal Communications Manager for Nigerian Breweries Plc, a subsidiary of Heineken, and a consultancy role at XLR8 Limited, a leading PR consultancy in Nigeria. Mr. Mordi also served as Group Lead, Internal Communications at the Dangote Group, a conglomerate with subsidiaries in 16 African countries. During his tenure at Dangote, he successfully managed communication for a group-wide business transformation program and achieved other notable milestones.

Currently, as the Head of Corporate Communications and Government Affairs at Cadbury Nigeria Plc, a subsidiary of Mondelez International, Mr. Mordi holds a pivotal role with responsibilities covering West Africa. He is also a distinguished member of the Leadership Council of Mondelēz International’s Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) Business Unit. In this capacity, he plays a central role in managing the corporate image and reputation of the company. His work involves collaboration with diverse stakeholders, including the media, investors, trade associations, regulatory bodies, host communities, and government authorities at all levels.
Mr. Mordi's commitment to excellence extended to his academic pursuits, culminating in a PhD in organizational communication and diversity management from the School of Media and Communication at Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos, the parent institution of the Lagos Business School (LBS). He also holds an MSc Degree in Media and Communication from Pan-Atlantic University, complementing his first-degree qualification in Microbiology from the University of Ibadan. Additionally, he has earned a Certificate in Research Leadership from Birmingham City University in the United Kingdom, a Prosci Certification in Change Management, and a Diploma in Public Relations from the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
Mr. Mordi is an esteemed member of the Corporate Affairs Experts of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), a respected think tank that provides counsel on policy matters to MAN's National Council. Outside of his professional commitments, Mr. Mordi dedicates his spare time to mentoring young individuals in both their personal and professional development, embodying a commitment to fostering the growth of future leaders.
